Peak – Brain Training
Everybody knows that you have to train your muscles to get a more trained and fit body, but did you know that the same goes for your brain? There are several ways to do this, such as reading books. For some examples about this, check out inc.com.
But the way to improve your brain we’re going to talk about is called Peak. Peak is a brain training app. I know what you’re thinking, these brain training apps don’t help.. But I’ve noticed some real progress while using this app.
How does it work?
As most of the brain training games out there, Peak uses games to improve your brain. Each game helps improve a certain part of your brain. Each day the app selects some games for you to play, and after completing these games, you get awarded some points. You have to reach a certain amount of points to reach your daily goal. After you scored enough points to get to your goal, Peak will give you an overview of your overall performance and an overview about how you rank among the other Peak players in your age category. From my own experience I can say that this is very motivating, because, in my case, I want to rank among the top performances in my age category.
As I mentioned before, each game helps improve a certain part of your brain. Peak does this with 7 categories. These categories are as follows:
- Problem solving
- Mental agility
When you go to the ‘Your Performance’ tab in the menu, you can see how you score in each category. For example, you can be quite good at Mental Agility and Language, but not as good in Coordination.
There are two versions of the app, the standard Peak and the Peak Pro version, which is a paid version. The add ons with the paid version are as follows:
- You’ll have access to 37 games, compared to the 20 games for the standard version.
- You’ll have more in-depth insights.
- You’ll unlock all workouts.
From my own experience, I can say that you’ll be just fine if you use the free version of this brain trainer.
In my opinion, Peak is a great way to train your brain, it has a lot of games and it has a clear graph in which you can see your progress also the daily streak makes it motivating to use.
